Ecozone Development

There are at least five (5) ecozones which may well serve as Iloilo’s economic drivers, namely: Leganes, Dumangas, Miag-ao, Concepcion and Passi City.

The ecozone areas at the provincial level were identified as ideal sites for special economic zones considering its available infrastructure, stable power supply and reliable telecommunications facilities.

The development of ecozones will contribute in realizing Iloilo’s target as an agri-manufacturing center. It will deliver the following: increase the export, increase production and manufacturing capability, and create thousands of jobs. Investment areas includes infrastructure, logistics,  transportation and cold storage facilities.

The establishment of ecozone is also envisioned as the solution that will hasten transfer of technology and motivate our farmers, small and medium enterprises, and local government units to complete the supply chain needed by industries. This will help attain self-reliance through self-sustaining efforts and resource generating system.
